Buried alive
I'm furious reading this.
Feel like crying!
And Turkey wants to be in EU.
Also I noticed that this 16 years old Turkish girl didn't have any education. What's happening there?
"Talking to boy," I remember when I lived and worked 3 months in Turkey, they didn't like that I had "too many boyfriends". I heard that complaint all the time. In the end I was fired for whatever reasons I didn't understand. I didn't have a boyfriend, the only "bad thing" I did, was talking to different men. For that they also called me "a russian girl". Just talking!!!
Turkish girl 'buried alive' in family garden

From the article in BBC News:
--------------------
When girls or women are deemed to have stained the family honour, by behaviour as innocent as simply talking to boys, there is strong peer pressure from the community on the male members of the family to restore their honour, say groups working on the issue in the south-east.

The only way allowed by their code is to kill the girl or woman - usually a young man is given the task after a family council meeting, and the method and location of the killing are discussed in detail.

Afterwards, the family will try to pretend she never existed.

Starry-eyed by Triin Kann

Starry-eyed
Underneath the cuts and bruises
Is a girl with a broken smile
Playing a game she always loses
Feeling better for just a little while
Behind the mask of sweetness
Is a girl who's deceitful
Sitting in her own loneliness
With a mind so colorful
If you ask she says she's fine
But when you turn your back
The little girl starts to cry
Her tears are like bright diamonds
Her eyes look like two almonds
Her reminds you of fields of gold
Inside she's locked, her heart is cold
There are scars on her back
Starry-eyed beauty thinks they've healed
But they won't give her any slack
She's been lit up and let down
Others look right through her
She has been everybody's clown
And she keeps on getting hurt
They took her, then forsake her
She was never good enough for them
For her everything's a big blur
In reality she's too good for them
If you look you'll never find her here
She knows exactly where to hide
But her presence you can always feel
Her pale white skin looks like porcelain
Her voice is like crystal clear water that runs
Lips are cracker, like ground waiting for rain
Her soul is frozen, only feeling left is pain
Once she was happy and felt high
She whispers something to herself in the night
And then again away she glides

Battersea Power Station, London
I was lucky to find this view just 5 minutes walk from my house. View from Ebury Bridge. Since I found the spot a month ago, there has been no good weather for photography. Sky is mostly boring grey. I hope I can take some better photos in the future. You can't see river Thames, but it runs in front of this huge building.
10 quick new year goals for this blog...
... made up in 5 minutes.
1. More original text.2. Getting more professional in general.
3. Getting more critical about my blog.
4. Ask for some professional feedback.
5. Analyze the design.
6. To learn how to get a background element on top of blog.
7. To write better reviews of my inspiration sources.
8. To find out my personal best blog posts and make links to these.
9. To make few more creative design elements for this blog.
10. To develop some skills what could earn me some money in the end of next year.
I love doing lists (sounds so Asperger's). Even if I can't accomplish anything in real life, I have done my lists and plans. I have done something. If I plan something, there are more chances that I will do it in reality. They say that before you get anything, you should dream about it, you have to have a mental picture ready in your head.

Film 'The Edge of Love'
Inspired by this film I bought myself some clothes. It was about one or two years ago, but watching the trailer reminded me of this.

I watched it twice in cinema. I really liked the clothes design in this film. All the colours and everything. I don't know if I was the only one who noticed it. Also the interior design caught my eye, all the curtains and other stuff. Just so much to look at.
The film is set in rural Wales and 1940s London, so the design must have been inspired from that period of time.

Costume Designer, April Ferry:
My inspiration for the clothes for the Edge of Love came from many sources. The most important one was John Maybury, the director. Dresses and Wellies were his idea and that really defines the most important look of the film. Of course, I studied all the books on Dylan Thomas's life and looked at all the available pictures of him and his associates.
There is wonderful research of that era in London. I immersed myself in as much as I could collect. I also made a wedding suit for Vera (Kiera) that was influenced by the real suit that was saved from the real woman. Also, Angels Costumier has a wonderful collection of period clothes from that time and I rented extensive wardrobe from them. And then there were those two beautiful, adorable actresses. They are a real joy to dress. I couldn't have had a better experience!

The Queen's Christmas speech again
I can't help posting the Queen's Christmas speech again. I liked the last year's one more. But I like the Queen. I don't know why. Or I know why! Because what she is.
Her clothes remind me of Footballers' Wives fairy tale series. Very bright colour, and only one colour dominating. Exactly what footballer's wives were wearing (not my taste).

But the Queen looks very good!
I'm such a foreigner in UK. All I know is the Queen and Footballers' wives. I still don't know who won the X-Factor.

Fork
..before I'll loose it. The little fork I used when I was small myself. Don't know why I haven't got rid of it or lost it. I lost my Photoshop, Flash CS3 and Dreamweaver and many other programs when the old hard drive gave up. Used Aperture first time in my life and little bit of Flickr Picknik to edit this photo.
I'm absolutely disabled without Photoshop!

Fashion blogger - only tonight
I guess I have read too many fashion blogs today. Bad influence? :)
Fashion blogger... without makeup and photoshop. Using crap mac camera. Only showing off the false eyelashes by Shu Uemura. In Spacenk.com shops they put them on also. I found one in Sloane Square. And the lashes are cheaper in shop. You can use them many times. I like that I didn't feel anything while I had the lashes on.

Trying to get the lashes on the picture. If I had used my proper camera you would see the diamonds on the lashes also. Black ones!
I don't remember the name of this popular sock shop in Kings Road where I bought these tights from. But it would be worth mentioning. So many colours and patterns inside such a little shop!

This gave me an idea! Next time I might be a housewife blogger.
